CSIM Farming Project
Welcome to the CSIM food security vision. Uganda is an agricultural country with a vast majority of communities depending on agriculture for their livelihood, using basic implements to eke out a living from the soil. At CSIM, we have a vision to sustainably feed and develop communities through animal and crop production. Food is a basic human need and can be useful in schools, prison and hospital ministry. The farm provides employment and opportunities for local farmers and students to learn value adding methods of agriculture. We have acquired 170 acres of land in Luweero on which we conduct both ministry, farming activities and animal rearing. Our animals include Cattle, goats, sheep, chicken, rabbits and dogs of various breeds. Crops grown include corn, rice, sweet potatoes, and cabbage.
From our Farm to your Table
Apart from agriculture and animal rearing, we envision starting up a wellness centre that functions as a nutritional retreat. We grow organic protein, fruit and vegetables. The center will provide opportunities to work with the farm as well.
We also envision constructing our university and bible college here.
Where we are now
So far, we are utilizing produce from the farm to feed schools and our communities and will expand our production to a commercial scale in future. We have also given members of our community the opportunity to use a part of our farm to grow crops at specific seasons to sustain their families.
How you can be involved
We need agriculture expertise in maintaining dams constructed, crop and animal husbandry. You are welcome to visit with us and share your skill with us!
